On 22 November 2021, the annual Prague Process Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) took place in an online format. Formally hosted by the Czech Republic in its capacity of Prague Process Chair, the SOM gathered officials from the Prague Process countries, the European Commission, the EU Council, EASO, Frontex, IOM and ICMPD. Participating states were invited to comment on the first drafts of the Ministerial Declaration and Action Plan, as well as to reflect on current migration challenges at national, regional and international levels.

ICMPD and the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) organised two trainings of trainers (ToT) on the newly developed fundamental rights and forced-return monitoring training for escort officers in Member States (MS). Both the trainings took place in the framework of the Forced-Return Monitoring III (FReM III) project in Warsaw on 27-28 and 28-29 November 2019, respectively.

February 2018, The Land Border Regiments’ Training School (CTS), a small, unassuming unit of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) is established with a simple yet ambitious goal: to become an integrated border management training centre of excellence. Against all the odds, but with the continuous support of ICMPD’s Netherlands’ Assistance to Lebanese Border Agencies (IBM) Project, the School has grown to become one of Lebanon’s most sought–after and trusted training institutions.

On 6 September, the official handover of two vehicles took place within the framework of the ongoing project ‘Resilience, Reinforcement and Recovery of Ukrainian Migration and Consular Services (RRR-MFA/SMS UA). The project is funded by the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic and the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) under the Ministry of Interior of Germany.

On 15-22 May, ICMPD facilitated a series of workshops for the Moldovan Border Police aimed at guiding it in handling evaluations in line with EU good practices as defined by the SchEval Mechanism. The training team was composed of both EU and local experts with the view to ensure transfer of knowledge for project sustainability.
