On 15 – 17 November 2023, ICMPD Türkiye has successfully organised two consecutive workshops dedicated to advancing reintegration efforts within Türkiye's National Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Mechanism (NAVRR). The workshops held in Ankara were instrumental in fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among national stakeholders and pertinent Turkish NGOs.
The first workshop, titled "Reintegration and Post-Arrival Assistance Delivery – Sustainable Reintegration," convened participants to delve into key definitions and how reintegration programmes work. This inclusive forum facilitated an exchange of best practices, drawing insights from experiences in countries such as Iraq and Morocco. Attendees left with valuable perspectives on effective strategies for achieving sustainable reintegration, gaining a deeper understanding of the associated challenges and opportunities.
Building on the success of the Sustainable Reintegration workshop, the subsequent session, "Workshop to Facilitate Consultation among Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) National Stakeholders for the Development of a Reintegration Roadmap," brought together national stakeholders. This workshop focussed on elevating reintegration assistance initiatives, particularly at the community level in Pakistan, and at the individual level for emerging priority countries like Uzbekistan and Iraq.
Both workshops, conducted under the auspices of the NAVRR Project generously funded by Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway, represent a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to fortify reintegration assistance programmes. Both sessions provided a vital platform for national stakeholders to exchange knowledge, address challenges, and collaboratively chart strategic roadmaps for future initiatives.
