The “Strengthening Border Security in Ghana” (SBS Ghana) project, funded by the European Union Emergency Trust Fund for Africa (EUTF), donated 100 books and 20 bookshelves to furnish the library of the Ghana Immigration Service Training School and Academy, at Assin Fosu.
The books donated comprise a comprehensive list of books on some crosscutting issues on immigration, international border management, borders security leadership, teamwork, international law and management.
This support from the European Union within the framework of the SBS Ghana project complements the efforts of other member states and international development partners such as the Embassy of Germany that seek to provide support to the GIS Academy and Training School.
Under its first component, the SBS Ghana project, contributes to building the capacity of the GIS. This extensive collection of books would benefit cadets, recruits and lecturers from across the Service, by deepening their interest in the fields of International Border Management, Border Security among other crosscutting topics on migration.
