Call for Applications: MMPAF Scholarships for spring 2025

07 November 2024

The upcoming online Moving the Migration Policy Agenda Forward (MMPAF) programme in spring 2025 has an open call for scholarship applicants. This initiative is funded by the European Union (EU) through the Migration Partnership Facility (MPF) of the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) and implemented by UNU-MERIT and Maastricht University. Applications are open until 20 November 2024.

The MMPAF programme provides intensive one-week, full-time, online courses designed specifically for government professionals and policy practitioners in the field of migration in countries across the EU Southern Neighbourhood, Sub-Saharan Africa, Central Asia and Silk Route countries.

Scheduled within the first quarter of 2025 (end of January – beginning of April), the courses will offer approximately 40 hours of learning per week, blending theoretical knowledge with interactive sessions to ensure a comprehensive learning experience. This programme underscores the commitment of UNU-MERIT, Maastricht University, ICMPD, and the EU to enhance migration management capacities through targeted education and training.

The format is ideal for senior practitioners who require flexible learning schedules. Each MMPAF course can be taken independently, allowing applicants to select one or more courses based on their professional interests and availability. Four courses will be offered for this edition, each focusing on a specific topic: diaspora engagement, migration and development, irregular migration, and policy coherence

Interested candidates must submit their applications by 20 November 2024. Given the programme's competitive nature, only selected candidates will be contacted. The MMPAF programme is offered free of charge to selected participants.

Applications can be submitted through the UNU-MERIT application portal. For any further questions on the application procedure or general inquiries related to the programme, applicants can contact the Capacity Development Office of UNU-MERIT at cdo@merit.unu.edu.
