Summary
Objective: The objective of the project is to support Lebanon in fostering human rights-based border and migration management. By promoting human rights-based and gender-responsive border and migration management in Lebanon, the project contributes to strengthening the capacities of Lebanese security agencies and authorities responsible for all aspects related to the management of migration and of displaced and refugee populations in Lebanon, thus reinforcing their role in performing their constitutional task as well as their perception as highly skilled and professional agents.
Summary: Building upon the positive outcomes of, Phase I (2016-2018), the project will continue in the same direction and particularly it will focus on:
Enhancing Lebanese security agencies’ border management and rights-based protection capacities
Raising awareness of the concept of gender equality and adopting gender-responsive border systems and procedures;
Promoting Lebanese security agencies’ awareness of and reactiveness to trafficking in human beings (THB);
Providing infrastructure support, with a focus on addressing the needs of migrants in vulnerable situations and potential victims of THB.
