Summary

Objective: The aim of the project "Enhanced Identification and Protection of Trafficked Persons in Türkiye (IPT)" was to enhance the capacity of relevant Turkish anti-trafficking stakeholders to identify and protect (potentially) trafficked persons more effectively by establishing standardised operating procedures (SOPs) for the identification of (potentially) trafficked persons based on a victim-centred approach.

The project addressed all forms of trafficking and followed a 4-phase approach comprising:

1) an assessment of the specific needs of the Turkish stakeholders with regard to victim identification,
2) the development of SOPs for victim identification,
3) inter-disciplinary training for relevant anti-trafficking stakeholders on the implementation of the SOPs,
4) testing the SOPs on actual trafficking cases.

On 18 December 2013 in Ankara the final conference of the project was held.
