ICMPD hosted the first training on Reintegration for Migration Policy Makers and Programme Professionals in Baghdad, for senior officials from the Federal Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government. Under the Danish-funded Capacity Partnerships and Access to Information for Sustainable Reintegration of Returnees in Iraq (CAIR-II) Project, the training was hosted on 24-28 November at the Migration Training Centre at the Ministry of Migration and Displaced (MoMD).
Aim of the project
CAIR II builds on ICMPD’s experience over the past three years in supporting the Iraqi Government’s ongoing work in strengthening the national reintegration framework for returnees. CAIR II is implemented as a follow-up project to phase one (Capacity building for long-term reintegration of returnees to Iraq - CAIR I, February 2021-May 2023). It continues with the activities that take forward the institutional capacity building for the Government of Iraq, a multistakeholder engagement approach to reintegration, and awareness raising and outreach for potential migrants and returnees through the Migrant Resource Centre (MRC) in Baghdad.
