Khartoum Process: Call for civil society organisations participation in the Diaspora Innovation Hub

25 July 2024

The Khartoum Process has an open call for youth and women diaspora organisations to participate at the Diaspora Innovation Hub during its Thematic Meeting on 11-12 September 2024 in Helsinki, Finland. Civil society organisations (CSO) can express interest to participate until 31 July 2024.

As a platform for political cooperation amongst the countries along the migration route between the Horn of Africa and Europe, the Khartoum Process aims at establishing a continuous dialogue for enhanced cooperation on migration and mobility. Within the framework of the Egyptian chairmanship, the Khartoum Process is organising a Diaspora Innovation Hub on 11-12 September 2024 in Helsinki, Finland, as part of its Thematic Meeting entitled Whole-of-Government Approach to Leveraging Migration for Development.

This event, hosted by Finland and co-hosted by Somalia, provides a unique platform for diaspora organisation of the Khartoum Process region to showcase their impactful work, share their experiences, and engage with participating States and policy-making stakeholders of the Khartoum Process. Diaspora organisations are invited to seize this opportunity to present their projects, to network with other diaspora organisations and to contribute to shaping policies that support and empower diaspora communities. With the financial support of the European Union, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) will cover transport, travel, visa, meals, and accommodation expenses of one participant per diaspora organisation.

Who can participate?
Youth and women diaspora organisations based in the Khartoum Process region or working in the Khartoum Process region.
