The objective of the meeting is to discuss and agree with the Moldovan stakeholders on a standard profile for forced-return monitors. The stakeholders will include the People’s Advocate Office (the Ombudsman), its NGO partner Law Centre for Advocates, as well as the Bureau on Migration and Asylum which is in charge of forced returns. The discussions will draw upon the good practices from EU Member States and the standard profile for the Frontex pool of monitors, among others. The expected outcome is a standard monitor profile for Moldova, which will outline the tasks, qualifications and eligibility criteria for the future monitors of forced return operations. FReMM is an ICMPD project aimed at developing a forced-return monitoring system in Moldova, and is funded by the Polish Ministry of the Interior and Administration.
